To legally start any new business and avail government scheme benefits (subsidies/loans), business registration is extremely important.

Udyam Aadhaar (MSME Registration):
This is an extremely important certificate for small and medium enterprises. It can be obtained completely free on the Government of India portal. It helps in getting bank loans faster.

Shop Act License (Gumasta):
In Maharashtra, it is mandatory to get this license from the Municipal Corporation or Municipality to start a shop or business. It is required to open a Current Account in a bank.

FSSAI and GST Registration:
If your business is food-related (hotel, bakery), FSSAI license is required. Also, if annual turnover exceeds ₹40 lakhs, GST number is mandatory.
