Gopinath Munde Farmer Accident Insurance Scheme
The Gopinath Munde Farmer Accident Insurance Scheme is a vital insurance scheme providing financial assistance to farmer families during unfortunate accident situations in Maharashtra. In case of accidental death or permanent disability of a farmer, financial aid is provided to the affected family. This scheme operates 24 hours and is independent of any other insurance scheme.

Eligibility Criteria
- Farmer registered as landholder in Land Records in Maharashtra.
- One family member who is not a landholder is also eligible.
- Age at the time of accident: 10 to 75 years.
Exclusions
- Natural Death.
- Suicide or attempted suicide.
- Accidents under the influence of intoxicants/alcohol.
- Self-inflicted Injuries.
- Death/disability due to violation of law.
- Accidents prior to the commencement of the policy.
Required Documents
- Land Records: 7/12 Extract and 6-D Mutation Entry
- Identity/Age Proof: Aadhaar Card, School Leaving Certificate, or Voter ID
- Incident Reports: FIR, Inquest Panchanama, Spot Panchanama
- Medical Reports: Post-Mortem Report and Viscera Report (if PM is inconclusive)
- For Disability: Disability Certificate (issued by District Surgeon)
- For Death: Official Death Certificate
How to Apply — Offline
- Submit claim with all documents to Taluka Agriculture Officer within 30 days of the accident.
- Joint Investigation Team (Revenue + Police + Agriculture) submits report to Tehsildar within 8 days.
- Taluka Agriculture Officer verifies and forwards eligible claims.
- Committee under Tehsildar’s chairmanship decides within 30 days.
- Approved amount is deposited into the bank account via ECS (Electronic Clearing Service).
- Fee: Free of Charge
