Swarnima Scheme — For OBC Women

The Swarnima Scheme is a loan assistance scheme implemented by the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra. The main objective of this scheme is to provide self-employment opportunities to women from Other Backward Classes (OBC) and help them establish a stable livelihood.

Key Benefits

  • Loan up to ₹5,00,000 for each Self-Help Group (SHG) project.
  • Up to ₹25,000 per member (maximum 20 members per SHG).
  • Interest Rate: 5% per annum (concessional rate).
  • Financial Assistance: Central Corporation 95% + State Corporation 5% — Beneficiary Share 0%.
  • Repayment Period: Up to 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must belong to the Other Backward Class (OBC) category.
  • For Women candidates only.
  • Must be a Permanent Resident (Domicile) of Maharashtra state.
  • Age: 18 to 50 years.
  • Income Limit:
    • Rural: Annual ≤ ₹98,000
    • Urban: Annual ≤ ₹1,20,000

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Two passport-size photographs (with signature)
  • Residential / Domicile Certificate
  • Caste Certificate — by competent authority
  • Income Certificate
  • Proof of Age (Birth Certificate / Class 10th/12th Marksheet)
  • Bank Account Details (Bank Name, Branch, IFSC Code)

How to Apply — Offline

  1. Visit the district office of LIDCOM or the relevant Other Backward Class Corporation office.
  2. Collect the Swarnima Scheme Application.
  3. Fill in personal information and project details.
  4. Attach self-attested documents.
  5. Submit the application and obtain an acknowledgement receipt.
